Special Tube Expanders

A special tube expander which has roll-slots positioned such that the mandrel is not self feeding. The tube expanding machine used with these expanders applies two separate forces to the Mandrel. One force rotates the mandrel and the other force moves the mandrel  Longitudinally to achieve tube expansion. The rolls and the mandrel are made from high speed steel.

Ideally suited for faster tube rolling in tube sheets that are 10" (250 mm) and thicker without removing the tube expander cage has grooves spaced 1" apart and is fitted with a spring-loaded, quick spacing thrust collar that permits fast step rolling in 1" increments throughout the full thickness of the tube sheet.

A special series of tube expanders designed for rolling the injection sleeves into the head of diesel engines. These tube expanders are made to order for each application, and a detailed drawing of the injector sleeve and the engine head must accompany the order to ensure proper tube expander design.

Designed for improved expanding of thin wall tubes, stainless steel, titanium and other exotic metals. It assures uniform tube tightness throughout entire thickness of the tube sheet. Available with standard or thin wall thrust collars and 1.1/2" - 2.1/4" in long rolls. For Tubes 5/8 to 1.1/2 in. (15.8-38.1 mm) O.D sizes.

Electronic torque produced by tristar electric tube expansion drive unit is governed by a separate electronic control panel which is adjusted by a simple digital display. When the electrically driven motors reaches the desired torque, the control unit mechanism automatically shuts off the power and on pressing the reverse button the tube expander retracts out from the tube .The fully automatic system ensures the tubes are rolled to maximum tightness without inducing excessive cold worked stress in tube metal, injuring tube ends or distorting tube sheet ligaments.
